Summit Ridge Capital Partners is a joint venture founded in 2023 in partnership with XP Asset Management and Polen Capital to manage opportunistic credit investments in Latin America. This association supports Summit Ridge’s investment strategy by providing unique origination and distribution capabilities globally. Summit Ridge aims to be a relevant capital solution for companies in Latin America facing scarcity of capital or with non-traditional financing needs.

The team is composed of veteran investors in Latin American credit with experience generating original investment research and sourcing proprietary opportunities in the region.

Chris Park

Chris Park
CEO

Former Managing Director at Moneda Asset Management, a $9 billion AUM asset manager in Latin America, specializing in corporate credit. During his time at Moneda, Chris originated, executed, and led strategic partnerships, including specialty credit mandates for CPPIB, XP Inc, and ScotiaBank. Chris played a key role in the origination of Patria’s acquisition of Moneda Asset Management, completed December 2021, which created the largest alternative asset manager in Latin America. Previously, Chris was a senior analyst on Moneda’s HY Credit team, and Associate Portfolio Manager on the Latam equity strategy. Chris has 21 years of investment experience, as an investment banker, credit analyst and in business development, in Latin America and United States.  Chris received a BA, Economics, from University of Western Ontario.

Ignacio Guzmán

Ignacio Guzmán
Portfolio Manager

Former Director at Deutsche Bank and a founding member of the EM Distressed Desk within the $3 billion Distressed Products Group at DB. Ignacio led analysis for a portfolio of distressed and special situation names in excess of $250 million, comprising mostly private securities in Latin America. He has 18 years of credit experience and has been involved in over 30 transactions in private credit / special situations in Latin America. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he was a Senior Analyst in an EM focused London-based hedge fund and before that, he was a senior member of the HY & Distressed team at Moneda Asset Management. Juan Ignacio holds an MBA from London Business School.

Gregorio Velasco

Gregorio Velasco
Portfolio Manager

Former Head of Fixed Income at BCI Asset Management, with 10B AUM, where he oversaw $5 billion in Fixed income investments and directly managed $350 million of corporate credit HY & IG portfolios. He has 18 years of Latam credit experience. Prior to BCI, Gregorio was a Latam HY Credit Portfolio Manager at a premier family office, Senior EM HY Analyst at Investec Asset management in London, and Senior Analyst on the HY & Distressed team at Moneda Asset Management. During his time at London Business School, Gregorio completed his thesis dedicated to Latin American restructuring and recovery rates, in which he analyzed over 25 restructuring processes/outcomes in Latin America. Gregorio holds an MiF from London Business School.

Alex Sideman

Alexander Sideman
Senior Analyst

Former manager of the industrial income fund at Asset AGF, an alternative asset manager. Prior to Asset, Alex was a senior analyst on the Latam Special Situations team at Moneda Asset Management, responsible for opportunistic investments in Latam bonds/loans and maximizing returns through restructuring. He has 9 years of experience investing in Latin America and has researched over 30 special situations investments in the region. Alex holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Lucas Vergara
Senior Analyst

Former Vice President on the DCM and structured finance team at HSBC in Sao Paulo. Before joining HSBC, Lucas was an analyst on the Latam Special Situations team at Moneda Asset Management, responsible for high yield and distressed Latam bonds/loans. Prior to joining Moneda, Lucas was a financial restructuring analyst at Lazard in Sao Paulo, and previously worked as an operations analyst covering distressed credit portfolios at BTG Pactual. Lucas holds a CFA charter since 2018 and received a BA in Economics from the Universidade de São Paulo.
